Purpose:
The ideal candidate will be a Hands-on owner of Assembly & Test process and be passionate about making the process truly world class.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate new product development and conduct sustaining engineering functions.
  • Will support process and manufacturing with SOPs, WIs, Quality requirements / OQA / Aid, SPC, process health, create or modify manufacturing execution systems, training and safety.
  • Provide leadership, mentor and train technicians on A&T processes to attain a high level of workmanship.
  • Will rigorously work towards Zero defect, eliminating root cause issues with a methodical approach.
  • Actively participate with team mentality in continuous improvement and support development with R&D/Engineering team.
  • Ability to specify tools and design fixtures to support process and manufacturing for future requirements.
  • Manage the sourcing and qualification of new equipment to improve safety, quality, and capacity.
  • Generate and manage metrics for the manufacturing line including yield, cycle time, and other key performance indicators.
  • Interface with internal and external groups to drive quality improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional activities to support new product introduction and product lifecycle advancement.
  • Support failure analysis investigations and drive containment and long-term corrective actions.



Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years previous work experience in a manufacturing/process engineering position.
  • Education: Minimum degree in a related Engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of the Assembly and Test process.
  • Working knowledge of Automated electrical testing, debug, and repairs (diagnose failure nets, etc.).


  • Experience with Assembly and disassembly of delicate, precision mechanical components.
  • Strong capabilities in statistical analysis and analytical reporting.
  • Comfortability with hand assembly and disassembly of delicate, precision mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Process Improvement (electrical test programs, optimizations, etc.).
  • Experience with electrical testing tools such as MicroCraft Tester, PWX, etc.


  • Ability to work in a high pace environment.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of AOI tools,
  • Experience with electrical data handling and tracking.
  • Will occasionally stand, walk, sit, and can carry or lift to 25 lbs.
  • Knowledge of CAD, Gerber Viewer, Solid Works, and related software is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical circuits, components repair, epoxy dispense / bonding / encapsulation, soldering, design layouts, statistical process control (SPC), and metrology tools.



The pay range for this role in Baldwin Park, CA is between $81,400 and $106,890. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
