Summary: This position serves as a technical lead, providing overall operational responsibility for medical logistics functions, including advanced medical supply chain activities and the maintenance of biomedical equipment.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensuring all assets in the medical War Readiness Materiel (WRM) allowance standards are accounted for and managed.
- Establishing levels for specific WRM assets based on approved allowance standards for WRM assemblages.
- Calculating and documenting the basis for issues related to mass casualty first aid bed expansion and force health protection programs.
- Managing and exercising deferred procurement programs.
- Ensuring regulatory requirements are met for all assigned WRM assemblages.
- Developing a WRM acquisition plan in advance of funding allocation.
- Ensuring all assigned WRM assemblages are stored as required.
- Developing activation checklists for logistics activities.
- Briefing the medical readiness committee on the materiel status of all assigned contingency projects.
- Conducting self-inspections and maintaining the shelf life extension program.
- Maintaining support agreements and continuity files for WRM.
- Performing controlled medical item management tasks as required.
- In addition to the duties of Medical Materiel Specialists at Levels I and II, this position will have overall operational responsibility for medical logistics functions, including advanced medical supply chain activities and the maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- This role will oversee the activities of Medical Materiel Specialists Level I and II and coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
- Requires proficiency in inventory management, as well as knowledge of medical logistics support instructions, policies, and regulations.
- This medical material specialist works under the immediate supervision of a senior medical materiel specialist, supervisor, or manager and performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a logistics-related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the medical logistics field. Specialized experience includes supervision and overall operational responsibility for medical logistics functions, such as general medical supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, warehousing, operation of various material handling equipment, report development, log function analysis, and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Experience must have occurred in a healthcare or healthcare support setting. It should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of medical War Reserve Materiel, Medical Counter Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (MC-CBRN), Home Station Medical Response (HSMR) program management, and execution of Class VIII medical supply sustainment, along with expertise in MMIS assemblage management.
