This is an exciting job opportunity for Software Quality Engineer to join our Philips Hue Engineering Team in Menlo Park, California, with Signify.

Work on one of the world's leading consumer smart home ecosystems and be part of a multi-disciplinary software engineering team in the Bay Area consisting of quality, mobile, embedded and cloud engineers. Our mission is to build the best smart home security system which differentiates itself through integration with lighting and a privacy without compromise approach using end-to-end encryption and Edge AI. We'll be rapidly expanding the Hue ecosystem through new devices and use-cases.

  • Analyze business requirements and assess quality risks to define the appropriate test strategy and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing and release activities in an agile development environment.

  • Implement tests and automated test cases; analyze test results to assure quality of existing and new functionalities.

  • Define the test automation strategy and develop CI/CD test automation frameworks to support new product launches.

  • Document, investigate and communicate defects discovered during test implementation.

  • Assess quality status of our products through data analytics, issue reports in beta and continuously improve by refining our QA processes and test coverage.

More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related and 3+ years' experience in a software QA role with a proven track record of delivering high quality products to customers

  • Extensive knowledge of software QA methodologies, common testing tools/test case management tools, and processes; able to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Software development experience in Python or similar languages, with test automation tools like pytest and Allure and integration in CI (Continuous Integration) pipelines

  • Knowledge of API testing and network communication technologies including HTTP and MQTT

  • Strong quality and collaboration mindset with passion for delivering the best Smart Home product experiences

  • Preferred experience testing Smart Home Security products such as cameras with software interactions between devices running embedded Linux, AWS cloud services, and iOS/Android mobile applications

  • Salary:$ 116,700 - 171,160 based on experience

  • Bonus:target bonus opportunity - 10%
