Staffmark is hiring a Purchasing Specialist for one of the area's most established and growth-focused manufacturers. Hours & Pay:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift

Pay: $20-$23 per hour, based on experience

What You'll Do:

• Manage and release purchase orders while maintaining optimal inventory levels
• Track and ensure on-time delivery of critical materials
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues with shipping, invoicing, and receipts
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate across departments to manage product lifecycle and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Support the quote process and supplier selection for cost and lead-time optimization
• Negotiate and implement purchasing agreements
• Use ERP (Baan) and MRP (Syncron) systems for data tracking and planning
• Maintain professional supplier relationships to expand company value and reliability

What We're Looking For:

• 3-5 years of experience in inventory/materials management or supply chain
• Bachelor's degree in Purchasing or equivalent experience (7+ years accepted)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and inventory planning tools
• Strong negotiation, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and sit at a computer for extended periods
• Comfortable working in both an office and manufacturing plant environment

Preferred Skills:

• Strategic purchasing background
• Experience using the EPMX quoting system and Lotus Notes
• Familiarity with tactical procurement processes and supplier metrics
