Airspace Coordinator
Various Locations Position Summary:
Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a qualified Airspace Coordinator to support mission planning and airspace management during emergency operations. This position is responsible for coordinating with partner agencies to ensure airspace is managed effectively and all aviation operations are conducted safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate with partner agencies for mission planning related to airspace management
* Ensure safe and efficient use of airspace in support of incident response activities
* Monitor and deconflict aviation activities during operations
* Support development of airspace coordination plans, maps, and briefings
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local aviation regulations
* Communicate airspace constraints and updates to relevant stakeholders
* Track aircraft movements and operational timelines for air missions
* Collaborate with aviation safety officers and command staff
* Assist in post-mission debriefs and provide airspace management feedback
Basic Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience in airspace coordination or aviation management
* Strong knowledge of airspace regulations and flight operations
* Excellent communication and coordination skills
* Ability to work under pressure in dynamic, high-tempo environments
* Familiarity with FAA, military, and state/local airspace procedures
* Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting emergency operations or disaster response missions
* Familiarity with ICS or EOC air operations coordination
* Experience with airspace management software and mapping tools
* Aviation operations, safety, or air traffic control background Other Requirements:

* Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)

* Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment
Working Environment:
The usual work environment is an office or EOC setting at a location determined by assignment. The role may involve outdoor/austere conditions, prolonged periods of standing, and frequent travel. Duties may include extended work hours beyond 12 hours per day, and coordination with aviation operations in real-time.
