Position Overview

This position will be focused on optimization of the CMC Logistics network by interacting/learning our integrated business model to include all Trucking operations. This includes rate optimization, location selection and load maximization. This position will coordinate all inbound and back haul load operations for South Carolina, Florida, and New Jersey mills. The position will also support the SC Mill Planner and SC Fleet Dispatcher along with performing these roles on an as needed basis. The position will positively impact the ability of the Logistics groups' performance in meeting its' short and long term goals.

What You'll Do
  • Interacts with various lines of business to identify, analyze, and implement improvement activities
  • Assists and coordinates special projects as required.
  • Looks at opportunities to utilize alternate resource/ locations to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and minimize costs
  • Performs analysis and makes recommendations in support of longer-term strategic logistics opportunities
  • Build and maintain network model and ensure effective distribution of CMC's inbound and outbound materials
  • Build and maintain relationships with CMC Operations, Purchasing, and Buyer teams for all assigned locations
  • Continue to develop key relationships with FFH customers and carriers
What You'll Need
  • 2+ years applicable work experience
  • High integrity and strength of character and professional presence
  • Working knowledge of logistics and supply chain activities
  • Organized & detaileld oriented with ability to still retain the big picture outlook
  • Can look beyond the industry in order to differentiate in a rapidly changing environment
  • Analytically oriented with the ability to identify areas for process & procedure improvement
  • Ability to Work with all Levels of the Organization
  • Ability to assess issues, and make timely, well informed decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with project managers, and team members
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment with shifting priorities while staying organized and detailed oriented
Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred
