At Sonos we want to create the ultimate listening experience for our customers and know that it starts by listening to each other. As part of the Sonos team, you'll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.

This role can be done from home
Building the world's leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That's why we've been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices in Seattle. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States - any of our offices, or remotely from home. It's about impact, not location.

Sonos is looking for a Senior Manager to directly support our national distributors across all verticals within the larger Professional channel, while indirectly managing our regional distribution business. This role will focus primarily on distributors covering the Residential Installation, Commercial Installation, Builder, and Security channels. This role will also be tapped on occasion to evaluate opportunities in other adjacent verticals where a professional installer is completing the sales and install cycle. You will be responsible for evolving the distribution strategy for the business, achieving sales metrics, maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders, and leading a team that will support regionally-focused partners. Internally, you will work closely with all support functions (Sales Team, Training, Finance, Operations, Marketing, CX, and Technology) to ensure we can achieve the goals set at the beginning of each fiscal year.

What You'll Do

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute sales strategies for distribution partners that align with market dynamics and customer needs.

  • Team Leadership: Directly manage a small team focused on regional distributor performance. Set clear goals, provide coaching, and support professional development.

  • Partner Management: Evaluate and manage the roster of distribution partners. Drive business planning, onboarding, and performance management.

  • Forecasting & Analysis: Collaborate with operations and sales teams to maintain accurate channel forecasts and provide market insights.

  • Business Representation: Lead Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to share key performance updates and strategic insights.

  • Marketing Collaboration: Partner with Marketing to build channel-focused strategies and optimize Marketing Development Fund (MDF) usage.

  • Industry Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including executive leadership at current and potential partners.

  • Event Leadership: Lead planning and execution of annual Distribution Summit and other strategic events with key partners.

  • Process Improvement: Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures for distributor engagement.

What You'll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in a sales role with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams and levels.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with sales analytics.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct Sales Management experience or 5+ years in a general management role.

  • Prior experience working within or with a distribution-based business model.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to guide strategy and decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at various levels.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable operating in dynamic environments.

  • Creative thinker with a willingness to explore new approaches outside traditional go-to-market models.

Research shows that some candidates may not apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria. If you don't have 100% of the skills listed, we strongly encourage you to apply if interested.
