Campus Safety and EADA Survey Help Desk (Hourly)

Job Description

Westat is seeking qualified candidates to receive incoming telephone calls and make outgoing telephone calls to postsecondary institutions on an upcoming project for our Education Studies group.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming telephone calls, answer questions independently and provide guidance to callers by using provided tools and reference documents
  • Assist callers with a Department of Education online survey and guide participants through the right procedures.
  • Contact postsecondary staff who have not responded to the survey in order to encourage their participation
  • Document all phone communication with postsecondary institutions using internal survey management system

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to summarize a conversation in writing using accurate spelling and grammar
  • Experience handling incoming phone calls from postsecondary institutions
  • Experience making outgoing phone calls
  • Experience establishing rapport with school staff
  • Ability to think quickly and answer questions as appropriate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year prior experience on the Campus Safety and EADA Survey Help Desk (including internal and external candidates with previous experience)
  • Knowledge of federal Clery Act and Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act
  • Some experience in using computer-based survey management systems or phone systems
  • Experience with a survey management system
  • Previous e-QIP clearance
  • Ability to speak Spanish, but not required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Professional courtesy and proper telephone and email etiquette
  • Comfort with computers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Work is Monday through Friday with 40 hours per week preferred and minimum 32 hours/week
  • After hiring, candidate must apply for and obtain background clearance for the U.S. Department of Education - Westat will provide instructions, forms, and support to help the candidate with this process.

These assignments are temporary hourly positions. Benefits are based on hours worked and tenure.
