Description Acara Solutions is looking for an Automation Specialist for one of our clients in Phoenix, AZ. Pay rate range: $55-$65/hour Would like someone to start as soon as possible Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing metering and control systems (8 years of experience) Contractor will be working Monday through Friday, 6am-2:30pm Additionally, will periodically have 10 hours of OT per week Travel Most travel from now until June 1^st of 2026 should be in the metro phoenix area (day travel to different locations). Mid-June of 2026 through the end of 2026 will be much heavier travel - contractor will be traveling out of town most weeks to support the state region. When traveling out of town, the contractor will be expected to stay in their assigned area for the full workweek. All travel will be done using the contractor's personal vehicle. We will be using GSA rates for all overnight travel and per diem. 16 month contract with possibility of extension Contractor will need to drive their personal vehicle to job sites and for travel (so driving record screenings will be needed for this position) The contractor will be able to submit milage for reimbursement and we will go off of GSA rates. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Equivalent to a high school diploma and experience troubleshooting and repairing metering and control systems and eight (8) years related experience. Ability to work on all types of supervisory equipment used by APS. Understand the functionality of control schematics. Ability to travel statewide, work outdoors, and work overtime. Demonstrated experience in substation design concepts/practices relating to substation control. A thorough understanding of protection, metering, and control concepts. The ability to apply and solve mathematical formulas using algebra and trigonometry. Familiarity with electronic circuit fundamentals. Demonstrated personal computer skills including working knowledge of both hardware fundamentals and software applications.
