Position Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for financial reporting and analysis related to Operational Excellence in the global manufacturing network. The role's primary responsibility is to measure the productivity benefits achieved within Supply Chain through plant performance, network optimization, logistics and procurement. Operational Excellence is focused on earnings and cash improvement through cost productivity and transformational process redesign.

The Finance Manager works cross-functionally to evaluate the performance of the manufacturing network and provide the financial visibility needed to optimize the cost structure. This role owns the Operational Excellence financial reporting, including continuous process and reporting improvement, and ensures consistency and transparency across segments and regions. The Finance Manager is a key partner to the Supply Chain Leadership Team in driving operational efficiencies and measuring the financial benefit of them.

Job Description

* Own the global Financial Plant Management Process (FPMP), Sealed Air's process of reporting and evaluating plant savings vs. a baseline period and annual target.
* Deliver FPMP monthly reporting accurately and on a timely basis, coordinating inputs from various owners and directing analyst(s) supporting the process.
* Drive enhancements to FPMP reporting in Power BI visualization tool including identifying new content to drive insights and decision-making and advising on backend development in the system.
* Support operations savings tracking in WAVE (initiative tracking tool), including auditing initiatives to ensure proper and timely data entry and accurate savings calculations as well as advising plant and regional users on tool usage. Oversee changes in tool as needed to support evolution of Operational Excellence process.
* Maintain guardrails to ensure fair and consistent measurement of plant, regional, and global savings; use knowledge of cost accounting and plant operations to advise on performance measurement in cases where it is not straightforward.
* Proactively identify and execute process improvements for Operational Excellence financial tracking, including streamlining reports and refining savings calculation methodology.
* Integrate new plants into savings reporting process, using critical thinking to evaluate data availability and develop mapping of non-SAP data to standard SAP categorization and training plant teams on FPMP process, savings calculation logic, and the WAVE system.
* Coordinate and improve the yearly savings target setting process for manufacturing organization, including providing analysis to inform initial proposed targets by segment, region, and cost category and facilitating target pushdown to plant and cost center level later in process.
* Partner with manufacturing & Operational Excellence leaders to identify cost improvement opportunities and hold partners accountable to meet savings targets.
* Develop executive presentations; present to and lead discussions with Global Supply Chain Leadership team.
* Own suite of monthly operational reports for operations team and senior Supply Chain leadership, including production volume, Cost Per Unit, and Yield; supervise analysts producing these reports.
* Lead or advise on development of new reports related to global cost of sales and plant manufacturing.
* Perform adhoc analyses and data pulls to provide insights into operational performance.
* Complete annual budget and monthly forecast for global Operational Excellence organization.

Qualifications

Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
* CPA or CMA preferred

Qualifications / Experience:
* Strong financial analysis skills and knowledge of fundamental business concepts required.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
* Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau preferred.
* Experienced user of SAP and BIA/B4P Hana. High level of financial systems knowledge; preferably OneStream or Hyperion Planning/HFM.
* 5+ years experience in Finance or Accounting in manufacturing industry; solid cost accounting knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills; executive presence due to frequent interaction with senior leadership.
* Energetic, collaborative, positive personality. Ability to work with and coach a diverse, global team effectively in a virtual setting and overcome challenges with language and time zone differences.
* Experience partnering cross-functionally at all levels of organization; ability to tailor communication style to specific audience.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
* Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure. Mentally resilient and able to manage multiple high-priority deliverables concurrently.
* Highly pragmatic with ability to reprioritize. Always focused on achieving outcomes.
* Entrepreneurial and proactively thinking about potential improvements to processes.
