The Vocational Specialist Supervisor role provides supervision and oversight of Vocational Staff on a cross functional team. The VS Supervisor serves as a subject matter lead within a cross functional team and acts as liaison between operational and Vocational staff members when needed. Works directly with employees, supervisors, site leadership, Functional Vocational leadership, and the Regional Vice President (RVP) to ensure employees with disabilities receive support and accommodations.
Ensures direct reports are maintaining federal compliance by monitoring caseloads and work tasks of Vocational Specialists on a Cross Functional Team to include IEEs, quarterly trainings, case notes, accommodation plans, and employee summaries. Provides oversight of American with Disabilities requests on the CFT to include paperwork, and processes to send to Vocational Manager for approval and making sure ADA requests are addressed in a timely manner. Promotes the Tessera mission and educates supervisors, managers, and employees on disability awareness and the requirements of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Develops collaborative relationships with Tessera site management and supervisors to support all Tessera employees of all abilities. Supports the RVP, Functional Vocational leadership, Recruiters, HR Partners and Site Managers in maintaining the AbilityOne disability ratio. Maintains required documentation with Workday(HRIS) for each employee on their caseload, including IEEs, case notes, accommodation plans, and employee summaries. Reviews and assesses disability documentation for applicants and current employees to ensure they qualify under the AbilityOne program. Performs check-ins with all employees on caseload during their first 30/60/90 days of employment and minimum of twice annually thereafter. Meets monthly with site leadership to ensure all employees under their supervision are receiving their documented accommodations and that newly requested accommodations are using the ADA process for review and evaluation. Assists employees with FMLA paperwork, benefits enrollment and accessing their information within the Workday HRIS system. Assists direct reports with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and safety planning to support employees who are struggling or in crisis. Gathers, promotes, and coordinates Veteran resources to ensure Tessera employees are supported. Performs administrative support duties including obtaining new disability documents, preparing for internal audit reviews, and participating in the report proofing process. Assists with surge writing that needs to occur on the CFT due to new start-ups, surge hiring for specific contracts and/or Vocational staff shortages. Assists with the vocational portion of new start up sites: sourcing and assessing disability documentation, providing appropriate accommodations, training, coaching new supervisors on disability related issues. Collaborates with Tessera's Recruiting department and external employment agencies to create positions within Tessera for people with significant disabilities. This may include collaborating with job coaches from external agencies. Supports and occasionally attends recruiting functions to assist the cross-functional team members in networking with local employment vendors. Maintains and promotes collaboration with all employees, departments, and service providers in a team-oriented environment. Facilitates quarterly training and presentations to employees and leadership around disability related issues including accommodations. Requires professional-level writing and editing. Travel will be required to local Washington sites and, on occasion, Tessera sites outside of Washington, dependent upon business needs. All Other Duties as Assigned.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Vocational Specialist Supervisor:
Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Kinesiology, or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. 3 - 5 years of previous experience in Social Services, Education, Disability Support Services, or related field is required. Combination of education and previous experience will be considered. Veterans and people with disabilities encouraged to apply. CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 10 certifications is required. All Vocational Specialists will take CPR and First Aid within the first six months of employment and complete an OSHA 10 course (or equivalent) within the first year of employment. Due to the need to travel to Tessera contract sites in Washington, a valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance. Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
