Driver, Funeral Services

Part-time driver for the Funeral Services program will transport human remains to and from Philadelphia and other locations as needed. The position will average 18-20 hours/week on Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
The rate of pay is $18.00/hour.

  • Commitment to discretion, confidentiality, and sensitivity in all interactions.

  • Transport remains using a designated college vehicle in accordance with state, local, and federal laws, and stores remains in appropriate temperature coolers.

  • Makes predetermined routine trips to Philadelphia three days per week and other locations as needed.

  • Handle human remains with dignity, care, and respect at all times.

  • Properly place and secure remains in vehicle for transport toavoid movement and ensure discretion.

  • Dress professionally and maintain a calm and respectful demeanor in all environments.

  • Clean, disinfect, and restock removal vehicles and equipment after each call, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and funeral home protocols.

  • Ensures that assigned vehicle is refueled and that maintenance is current; informs management of any deficiency.

  • Ability to lift and carry 100+ lbs., sometimes with assistance, and maneuver through narrow spaces.

  • Ensures that customer service issues are resolved and informs management of any issues.

  • Ensures that supplies or equipment requests are completed and delivered; informs management of any damaged equipment, supplies or unsafe act.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and respectful attitude.

  • Ensures that any act or decision made is on the behalf of the college and does not place anyone in an unsafe situation.

  • Performs related duties as required.
