Overview

AmTrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, is looking for a Director, FP&A, responsible for supporting the Claims organization. The right candidate will bring strong leadership and a balance of analytical abilities, creativity, and execution to the table.

This position will report directly to the VP of Claims Strategic Planning & Analytics and will support the Claims organization by providing thoughtful reporting and analytics to communicate the progress of the organization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.



Responsibilities

    Lead and manage a team of analysts supporting our various lines of business and business functions across claims. This team is responsible for all Claims & Litigation expense management & oversight, continuous maintenance and monitoring of staffing models, budgeting & forecasting, and expense reporting & analysis. They provide valuable insight enabling data-driven decision making in all aspects of running the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with claims & litigation leaders to become a trusted partner who understands the business and can influence decisions
  • Partner with our Corporate FP&A and Controllers departments on company-wide deliverables and initiatives
  • Coordinate blending data from multiple sources for unified reporting and look to identify cross-functional opportunities to either simplify or improve current processes
  • Proficiency evaluating very large data sets with an ability to spot trends and present business insights to a variety of audiences
  • Create consolidated executive-level reporting
  • Support ad-hoc requests


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years financial or operational analytical experience
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • Experience with Office particularly Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using SQL with BI software suites
  • Prior experience in reporting and data visualization solutions, consulting, or business analysis
  • Ability to operate under limited supervision and play an active role in cross-functional work

Preferred:

  • Property Casualty Insurance industry experience
  • Experience with financial reporting solutions, Oracle Cloud ERP, Hyperion
