Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Costing Policy & Analysis, the Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting budget and financial analysis for campus departments and programs. The role involves providing strategic recommendations and collaborating with campus stakeholders to ensure that budgets and financial controls align with institutional goals and decisions. As a key campus resource, the Financial Analyst specializes in financial activities related to Sales and Service, Course Material and Service Fees (CMSF), and Miscellaneous Fees (MSF). This position also offers comprehensive analytical and project support, including overseeing and reviewing Sales and Service, CMSF, and MSF submissions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 or more years of professional experience as a financial analyst, accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst, ideally with participation in the design of financial accounting systems.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
- 70% Rate Review and Analysis: Assist the Associate Director of Costing Policy & Analysis in reviewing I&R Centers, Course Materials & Service Fees and Miscellaneous Fees activities. Collaborate with the departments and control points to ensure the completeness and accuracy of proposals, offering guidance to address any questions or concerns. Review cost components in rate calculations to ensure compliance with policy and cost recovery standards. Provide guidance and support in the development and structure of rates and fees, ensuring they meet all regulatory and institutional requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive inventory, tracking, and status systems for Sales and Service and other student fees
- 15% Procedures and Compliance: Serve as an advisor to faculty and staff on local, systemwide, and federal policies, procedures, and best practices related to rate setting and financial compliance. Participate in the development and refinement of policies and procedures related to Sales and Service activities and other student fees. Make recommendations to enhance internal controls and improve business processes
- 10% Training and Communication: Assist in developing a training curriculum for the campus on Sales and Service and other student fees. Draft communication letters to departments, including approval letters and policy updates. Pursue ongoing professional growth through participation in skill development and training. Stay informed of new policies and assist in implementing necessary changes
- 5% Other: Participate in organizational activities, committees, and strategic events within the department, division, and campus. This job description is not intended to be all inclusive.
