Transform at JLL with your leadership experience as a Facilities Mechanical Engineer on a technology client account! You will work as part of an engineering & facilities team at a million sq ft client portfolio with critical environments managed by JLL. This a is a client facing role that requires a Mechanical Engineering subject matter expert.

Location: Client Campus in Webster, NY 14580Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Reports to: Operations Director Additional Perks: annual salary bonus

Mechanical Safety & Sustainability:

  • Act as Mechanical Engineering Lead for mechanical aspects of existing systems, repairs and new projects.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, work processes, safety guidelines, and programs are in compliance with applicable laws, company policies and other pertinent codes and requirements.
  • Support and encourage reductions in energy and emissions of greenhouse gases.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Safe Work practices, especially regarding energized work, working at heights, hot work and confined spaces.
  • Ability to recognize, assess and mitigate or eliminate risk.
  • Ability to understand, counsel and use proper PPE for associated tasks.

Training:

  • Evaluate, train, teach and coach a work force of Maintenance Engineers and Technicians.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of HVAC and psychrometric systems, and capability to teach others.

O&M:

  • Perform and assist in identification and implementation of Operations, Maintenance and Repair (OM&R) Strategies to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient mechanical equipment, systems and control devices at client's site.
  • Possess experience working with infrastructure that supports Critical Environments.
  • Understand and manage the Direct Digital Control System (BMS), including vendor management, providing system data to operations and client management and project managers.
  • Lead the reduction of operational downtime by reviewing the BMS for alarms and anomalies and entering work orders in the Corrigo maintenance management system for support personnel and vendors to address.
  • Provide technical assistance, training and support in advanced mechanical maintenance, repair, installation, troubleshooting, and hands-on repair guidance in support of the onsite team.
  • Knowledgeable in variable frequency drive set-up and operations.
  • Possess hands on skills and knowledge to ensure completion of required mechanical and controls repairs and maintenance on commercial and industrial buildings and building systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, Steam, Chilled Water, Compressed Air, High Purity Water, Industrial Water Treatment, Vertical Transportation, Life Safety, and Building Automation Systems) using industry standard tools and in accordance with all codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Support regulatory compliance for annual boiler inspections and on-going refrigerant management programs.
  • Lead the performance of other work to include hands-on repair & maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, door & gates systems, building envelope systems, grounds and parking lots, interior finish systems, lighting systems, and various other OM&R tasks associated with operation of commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Assist in identifying and executing energy reduction projects.
  • Upkeep of all process and utility equipment ensuring 100% availability for Operation.
  • Support the maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems to ensure they meet objectives in terms of integrity and operability.
  • Work with Operations Managers and others to analyze and improve operational aspects of asset performance and implement associated best practices.
  • Deliver technically sound solutions that are cost effective and feasibly implemented.
  • Assist with the annual Shutdown Period for job planning, scheduling, execution and reporting with client and production operations managers.
  • Management of data and documentation relevant to operation and maintenance of building systems and equipment as well as prepare reports.
  • Implement safety procedures / accident prevention.
  • Discuss major problems, document the issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • May be called to backfill Operations Managers from time to time, and provide supervision of a small team of Watch engineers.

Projects:

  • Participate in project scope efforts to ensure optimal design work provided by others, including development of annual Cap/Exp project requirements.
  • Attend design reviews and scope identification meetings as required to ensure design meets company requirements and specifications.
  • Review and approve design packages and specifications.
  • Review and approve Project Closeout Packages.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Five (5)+ years of applicable working experience in HVAC, Utility, and/or Controls field
  • A leader in field experience with operations of HVAC, Steam, Chilled Water and Compressed Air systems and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with skilled labor personnel, managers, Project Managers and A/E firm personnel and Client Management, production personnel and building occupants.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Experience managing capital and expense projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-use buildings and production operations.
  • Understanding of operation and capital level financial goals and controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Visio, AutoCAD and ability to learn new technology.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to read and modify and create VisualLogic DDC programming.
  • Understanding of data centers/critical environments or desire to become familiar.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, EIT/PE, or equivalent experience
  • People management experience; especially as a Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer or similar roles
  • Certifications that are a "plus" include: Backflow Prevention, NYSDEC Pesticide 5g, Network IT, BACnet, DDC, City of Rochester Steam/Refrigeration, EPA 608 refrigeration.
  • Highly proficient in Alerton Controls and knowledgeable with Johnson Controls, including integration, networking and server support.
  • Experience with Corrigo

Estimated total compensation for this position:

100,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
