About This Role:

We're looking for a strategic and experienced Payer Maintenance Coordinator Lead to join our team and help with operational and strategic performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle (order to cash).

The Payer Maintenance Coordinator Leadplays a critical leadership support role on the payer maintenance team. In addition to managing payer contract data and ensuring configuration accuracy, this position is responsible for work distribution, team-level escalation handling, auditing activities, and supporting the development and tracking of team scorecards. The Payer Maintenance Coordinator Lead acts as a key liaison between the payer maintenance team and internal stakeholders, helping to ensure payer information is complete, accurate, and compliant-enabling clean claims and optimized revenue cycle performance. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a detail-driven environment while supporting the operational success of others.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Accurately input and maintain payer data to support claims processing and billing accuracy
  • Review and validate payer contracts, rate tables, and related documentation for completeness
  • Maintain contract records in internal systems including Salesforce and ZIO Suite
  • Support EHR and provider onboarding by ensuring payer configurations are correctly mapped
  • Ensure all payer updates meet documentation standards for SOX compliance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, SPPs, Commercial Liaisons, and Billing Vendors to clarify data issues and implement corrections
  • Distribute and oversee daily/weekly payer maintenance tasks across the team
  • Serve as the first line of escalation for complex or time-sensitive issues
  • Audit payer data entries to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Maintain and track team metrics using a scorecard framework aligned to SLA expectations
  • Identify trends in team performance or system issues and recommend solutions
  • Assist with training new team members and support process improvement initiatives
  • Represent the payer maintenance function in cross-departmental meetings when needed
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency

What We Need To See

  • At least 5 years of experience in payer maintenance, healthcare billing, or claims operations
  • Experience with denial codes, reimbursement trends, and claims adjudication workflows
  • Familiarity with billing workflows, documentation standards, and reimbursement practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to co-lead payer initiative projects and execute associated tasks

Ways To Stand Out

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (validation, audits)
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM/data platforms
  • Understanding of payer structures, contracts, and rate mapping
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and lead through influence in a team setting
  • Proven track record of accountability, collaboration, and follow-through
  • General supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate complex provider networks.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
