Description
This role drives growth programs across the key Aurorium market of Personal Care by developing new technical value propositions with existing and new Aurorium chemistries that address customer problems.

Job Details

Location: Role can be based at either our Ledgewood, NJ location or Indianapolis, IN location

Role Specific Responsibilities:
  • Leads development of new/modified additives for use in personal care (skin care, oral care, and hair care).
  • Leads development of product value proposition and end-application claim support data for identified use-cases including development of internal/external test methods and benchmarking.
  • Works with the commercial teams, engage customers in applying and qualifying new additive products/systems in their applications/formulations
  • Contributes as an active member of cross-functional project teams to deliver outcomes on business prioritized growth programs
  • Focuses on translating unmet customer requirements into future technical work plans and aid in the development of new products as needed to achieve growth
  • Assists with developing intellectual property including assessing technical landscape and commercial viability, maintaining technical records, writing invention disclosures, and coordinating filings with patent counsel
  • Helps convert technical information into appropriate language for external and internal technical and commercial audiences
  • Contributes as an active member of the global technology group and provide expertise, consultation, mentoring and recommendations

Qualifications/Desired Skills

Education and Qualifications:
  • Required: MS in chemical engineering, colloid and surface science, polymer science, chemistry, material science or equivalent
  • Desired: Ph.D. in chemical engineering, colloid and surface science, polymer science, chemistry, material science

Experience:
  • Required: 5 years of experience developing new products in personal care technology and applications across a range of applications such as skincare, color cosmetics, and hair care, including use of various raw material ingredients and formulation/product types.
  • Desired: 10 years of experience developing new products in personal care technology and applications such as skincare, color cosmetics, and hair care, including use of various raw material ingredients and formulation/product types.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience translating customer requirements into technology development projects
  • Demonstrated success working as a self-starter and handling multiple projects
  • Demonstrated strong communication, creativity, and innovation skills
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel about 15% of the time as required for customer visits/trials
  • Strong working knowledge of preservation, microbiology, toxicology, and regulatory factors in developing consumer products.
  • Previous technical contacts within the industrial and professional society communities to foster learning and to accelerate potential new business opportunities
  • Demonstrated experience supporting GMP produced product and associated applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rheology, surface chemistry and other material characterization techniques
  • Experience in stage-gate program management
