THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a Game Lands Maintenance Supervisor to work in the Southeast Region. For this supervisory role in our State Game Lands, you will have the opportunity to oversee and participate in wildlife habitat management work in addition to the construction, development, and maintenance of infrastructure, facilities and resource areas. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this supervisory position reporting to the Game Land Management Group Supervisor, you will supervise, lead, instruct, and participate in the construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, and game land management areas, as well as the development of new, and maintenance existing, wildlife habitat areas on State Game Lands and on private lands through cooperative agreements with landowners.

Your responsibilities will include decisions regarding planning and assigning tasks, allocating time and schedules, purchasing equipment and supplies, supervising employees, ensuring safety, maintaining efficiency, and providing instruction and training in support these projects and goals. Our team will rely on your maintenance, trades, and wildlife habitat development experience, as well as your experience operating equipment such as bulldozers, graders, or various trucks, trailers, tractors, and related farm machinery and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalency, and four years of maintenance and wildlife habitat development as a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 2, including one year of experience operating equipment such as bulldozers, graders and various combinations of trucks, trailers, tractors and related farm machinery and equipment; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class A or Class B commercial driver's license which is not under suspension.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
