DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Certified Nurse's Aide working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive care across various settings, including Skilled Care, Personal Care, Outpatient services, and the General Population. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a range of essential tasks aimed at maintaining the health and well-being of inmates. This includes executing fundamental nursing skills and procedures to ensure optimal health outcomes, meticulously documenting care activities as required, and collecting specimens such as urine, feces, and sputum as directed by the supervising Registered Nurse. Additionally, you will assist inmates with daily living activities and personal hygiene to meet their basic physical care needs. Your involvement in Life Skills programming will require you to adhere to nursing care plan orders, provide interventions tailored to the specific needs of inmates, and document your contributions to the nursing care plan. In emergency situations, you will be expected to perform critical procedures, such as CPR and managing obstructed airways, while also participating in emergency response drills as assigned. - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- The Department of Corrections is staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- 8-hour shifts with rotating days off
- Work hours TO BE DETERMINED
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
