DESCRIPTION OF WORK

An employee in this role is responsible for overseeing and guiding inmates as they engage in a diverse range of skilled mechanical tasks related to the maintenance and repair of high-pressure steam boilers, stationary steam engines, and associated steam, electric, and heating equipment. This position entails not only the execution of technical duties but also the critical responsibility for the supervision, care, custody, and control of the inmates assigned to them during their work shifts. The employee's work is systematically assigned, monitored, and evaluated throughout the duration of the tasks, ensuring adherence to established instructions and safety protocols. This oversight is conducted by a technical supervisor or an administrative superior, who reviews the completed assignments to confirm compliance with operational standards and safety regulations. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in performing skilled mechanical repair work involving heavy machines; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
