Summary:

Develops, implements, and provides on-going support for data pipelines and infrastructure on cloud platforms. Collaborates with the Data Engineering team on approaches to data quality, integrity, and availability while promoting best practices for data management and data governance. Technical background in data engineering and the ability to collaborate with members of the Data Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Capable of completing tasks in accordance with provided design specifications and prioritizations.
  2. Understands the capabilities of advanced analytics within the user community and is dedicated to evolving and improving self-service analytics within the hospital.
  3. Develops and maintains data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL pipelines.
  4. Follows best practices for data governance, data security, and data quality assurance.
  5. Makes use of new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of data processing systems.
  6. Troubleshoots data pipeline performance issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of data processing workflows.
  7. Achieves timelines and ensures timely completion of high-quality deliverables.
  8. Provides status updates on project tasks and proactively communicates any potential risks to assigned projects.

Technical Expertise

  1. Knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics and reporting tools.
  2. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc.
  3. Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner to members of the Data Engineering team.
  4. Ability to work with peers within the Enterprise Data & Analytics department.
  5. Familiarity with basic Python syntax and concepts. Understands the core concepts of DevOps such as version control, basic command-line operations, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite 360 [Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint] or similar software is required.
  7. Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree required in related field of analytics, information services, or healthcare.
  2. Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills required.
  3. Minimum of two years of relevant data engineering and analytics experience required.
  4. Relevant data engineering and analytics experience preferred.
  5. Certification: None required. Certification in cloud architecture, clinical, healthcare, or nursing informatics preferred.
