Instructional Design and Development Specialist

This is a hybrid position requiring on-site work 12 days per month during the first six months of employment. After that, the requirement shifts to 6 on-site workdays per month; however, based on business needs, additional on-site presence may be required.

Summary:

The Instructional Design & Development Specialist supports the strategies and tactics for the organization related to the Learning Management System, standards in design and workflow to ensure high quality and innovative education. The Instructional Design & Development Specialist partners with subject matter experts to identify the target audience's training needs and develops content presentation formats that facilitate instructional education goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Actively participates on the Instructional Design and Development team on quality and consistency of training standards, design and use of technology.
2. Designs and delivers training to hospital staff effectively using multimedia; provides training on the functions of the LMS and assists with the orientation of new staff.
3. Uses quality metrics to ensure training success and accuracy of programs. Conducts evaluation research and analysis using LMS.
4. Provides and seeks peer feedback from the instructional design point-of-view for developed education.
5. Maintains project documentation, and reporting and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies, and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning.
6. Collaborates with clinical and business departments throughout the organization to continue to improve utilization of LMS.
7. Manage training records using Children's learning management system, including data entry, report generation and data integrity review to support understanding and use of the system; produces reports for the department showing employees who are approaching noncompliance or who are currently noncompliant, as well as no-shows for courses offered.
8. Other duties as required.

Other information:

Technical Expertise
1. Experience in developing, presenting, and evaluating online and/or classroom training programs is required.
2. Experience in adult learning principles is preferred.
3. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-minded with strong commitment to accuracy.
5. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
6. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. LMS software is required.

Education and Experience
1. Education: Bachelor's Degree
2. Certification: Instructional Design Certification is preferred. Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
3. Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
