PAY RATE: $19.25

SHIFT: 6 AM- 2 PM + OT HOURS MAY VARY

• Manually pick up birds by legs, invert birds, and hang them by both legs on moving shackles with speed and precision
• Use leg pedal to control belt conveyor that transports birds to workers, maintaining a steady flow of production
• Identify and separate live birds from dead ones, ensuring only live birds are processed
• Properly dispose of dead birds following company protocols and food safety regulations
• Handle birds with utmost care to prevent injuries, damage, or bruising, maintaining product quality
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, including regular sanitization of equipment and surfaces
• Adhere strictly to all Quality Assurance and safety regulations, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Participate in cross-training for dump operations, kill positions, and picker positions as required
• Monitor bird welfare and report any concerns to supervisors immediately
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and smooth operations on the production line
• Maintain accurate records of processed birds and any issues encountered during the shift
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices
• Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and animal welfare
• Perform basic equipment checks and report any malfunctions to maintenance staff
• Adapt to changes in production schedules and workload as needed

1. Ability to manually lift and properly position 4-6 pound live birds onto moving shackles continuously. Must be able to reach and use both hands.
2. Ability to understand and communicate in English, follow verbal and demonstrated instructions, and make quick quality judgments within assigned duties.
3. Good hand-eye coordination and ability to stand for extended periods. Previous production experience preferred.
4. Operate leg pedal to control conveyor belt when in first station.
