CAS is currently seeking a Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Summary:

The Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the data and analytics vision for CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society. This role is instrumental in transforming CAS into a data-driven enterprise, leveraging advanced analytics and enterprise data assets to empower the global chemistry community. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and champion enterprise-wide initiatives that enable data-informed decision-making at scale.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Translate enterprise objectives into actionable strategies that elevate the BI&A function.
  • Establish and enforce policies and frameworks that drive measurable organizational impact.
  • Architect and execute a forward-looking BIA roadmap aligned with CAS's strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on high-stakes, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Lead financial planning and budget oversight for the BIA function with division-wide implications.
  • Spearhead the adoption of predictive analytics, AI/ML, and advanced data visualization to unlock business value.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of high-impact data initiatives-from ideation to implementation, collaborating closely with business stakeholders.
  • Shift the organization from reactive reporting to proactive, insight-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and trust to support revenue growth, operational excellence, and superior customer experiences.
  • Act as a catalyst for cultural change, fostering a data-first mindset across all levels of the organization.
  • Align diverse stakeholders through strategic influence, negotiation, and collaboration.
  • Lead the integration of digital technologies and business operations through innovative operating models.
  • Promote enterprise-wide data literacy and cultivate communities of practice to embed data fluency.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, enterprise-wide BIA team within a matrixed business and technology environment.
  • Drive talent strategy, including recruitment, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous innovation.


Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in science, Business, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of experience leading large-scale, transformative business and data initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic leadership roles within data and analytics domains.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, Talend, and other ETL/visualization platforms.
  • PMP and Prosci Change Management certifications required.
  • Certification in Data Literacy and experience leading enterprise-wide data literacy programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Six Sigma tools.
