We are seeking a dynamic New Product Introduction Engineer with a passion for bringing new product designs to life in a customer useable assembly. We are looking for a New Product Introduction Process Engineer to act as a critical bridge between design engineering and production. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge team at a new facility. This full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position is based in our Healdsburg, CA office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the engineering team during the early design phase to ensure downstream production requirements are met.
  • Interpret program direction and tailor DFx (Design for Excellence) efforts to program-specific needs.
  • Identify and mitigate potential production risks early in the development phase.
  • Mature configuration control processes, ensuring agility and discipline across Engineering Prototype, NPI, and Production phases.
  • Maintain programmatic budgets and schedules for NPI through Production phases.
  • Develop and implement operational processes that balance agility with production discipline.
  • Manage manufacturing and test tooling.
  • Work with Materials Handler to establish Routers, MFG Orders, and material handling procedures.
  • Perform integration and troubleshooting tasks for system and subassembly builds.
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes to increase efficiency for existing products and new product development.

Experiences and background we look for (required skills):

  • Develop, integrate and build on new projects and project tasks to provide design engineering solutions including: documentation, design for manufacturability, verification, validation, unit testing of electro- optical systems.
  • Perform technical review like production readiness review, design analysis for build, development and selection of hardware and build tooling.
  • Implement NPI methodologies to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and production to deliver robust solutions.
  • Perform validation and troubleshooting to ensure system performance and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to security protocols in classified and unclassified environments.

Nice to have (preferred skills):

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in design development for electro-optical systems and gimbals.
  • Proficiency in operations tools and practices (MES).
    • Router use in Costpoint for managing builds
    • Manufacturing orders use in Costpoint
    • Engineering verses manufacturing BOM in Costpoint
    • Material ordering and monitoring
    • Supply chain monitoring/reporting
  • Configuration management practices.
    • Create process for build books
    • Tie into existing Arete processes or help modify existing processes
    • Government property tracking
    • Integrate Logistics support (ILS)
  • Repair strategy
    • Depot repairs
    • Warrantee management
    • Manage Engineering Field Service
    • Training for customer repairs

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $135,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
