What You'll Do

  • Design, Develop, and Document Smart Factory solutions that support the modernization of production and facilities
  • Develop, Deploy, Maintain and Enhance Smart Factory Applications
  • Develop solutions that interface with process equipment and existing systems
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate Smart Factory with other plant systems.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper functioning and adherence to internal Software Quality Assurance and Cybersecurity policies
  • Provide technical support and training to Smart Factory customers
  • Research technology improvements and requirements to improve current production and meet future programmatic needs
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to progress Smart Manufacturing in key areas
  • Increase operational visibility of production processes and equipment
  • Develop Digital Thread integration and automation solutions
  • Provide IS&S representation in Production Tier 1, 2, & 3 meetings

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
  • Onsite presence required (some telework possible).
  • Possible travel up to 30%.
  • Programming experience with a text-based programming language (e.g., C/C++, JAVA, Python, C#, etc.)

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Experience developing desktop and web applications using .NET Framework and C#
  • Experience with interfacing with databases and data warehouses for data storage and retrieval
  • Knowledge of IIOT and machine communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC UA, MTConnect, etc.)
  • Experience developing website front-ends with HTML, CSS, and JS
  • Understanding of back-end computing infrastructure used in manufacturing and IT systems (compute hardware, virtualization, OS's, networking, databases, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of information technology (IT), operation technology (OT), and cyber security
  • Analyze system requirements and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement industrial engineering solutions
  • Strategic mindset to build scalable automation solutions
  • Strong debugging & troubleshooting abilities
  • Manufacturing/machining experience
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems
  • Knowledge of event streaming platforms and big data storage systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Hadoop, etc.)
  • AI/ML experience
  • Familiarization with SAP ME and its capabilities
  • Experience executing agile projects and using Azure DevOps
  • Ability to work in a project team environment and communicate well with other disciplines, customers, and stakeholders
  • Strong technical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on approach
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with deployment of Lean or Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and implementations
  • Experience in the Lean principles such as Problem Solving, Daily Management, Process mapping, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, 5-whys, etc.
  • Experience leading or supporting process improvement projects that resulted in increasing operational performance within a production facility
