Overview
This role will be responsible for providing clerical/processing support pertaining to the administrative functions of the area, department, or region. This may include some or all the below essential functions and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- File, locate, pull, and classify a variety of different materials. Pulls files for audits upon request. Process file purges per retention guidelines. Sends files marked for retention to off-site storage. Coordinates and approves off site files for destruction.
- Performs other clerical/administrative duties in support of department or function assigned. At times may provide support and assistance to other operations within the Selective organization.
- Enter emailed and faxed new claims from various queues and inboxes into our automated systems.
- Produce various forms, reports, and correspondence. Proofreads material to ensure accuracy and quality of product. Identifies errors and omissions in materials and expedites resolution.
- Handles all supply orders for the Claim Service Center employees as needed.
- Arranges and coordinates meeting plans, catering and other needs for management or department staff.
- Data entry of emailed or faxed E&S new claims along with manually identifying and verifying coverage on all reported E&S new claims.
- Manages first party glass claims with our approved glass service provider by assisting with coverage, deductible verification, assignments, invoices, and other glass vendor reports.
- Oversees and manages claim assignments for Claim Service Center or another appropriate claim handler/regional queue.
- Void claims as appropriate.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently by staying focused on task at hand and completing work on schedule. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple demands, shifting priorities, and meeting deadlines. Demonstrated commitment to producing quality work. Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with others to achieve goals while supporting collaboration and teamwork. Ability to provide exceptional customer service for internal and external clients. Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel).
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Prefer 1 year of claims experience. Prefer 1 year of data entry experience. Prefer 2-4 years of general office work including prioritization and time management.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
Pay Range
USD $38,000.00 - USD $52,000.00 /Yr.
