What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Function: Provide academic support and monitoring of all, at-risk, student athletes. Work in conjunction with academic advisor/s, academic coordinator/s, support staff, and graduate student employees to ensure consistent communication and grade reporting to on-campus stakeholders. Conduct training for CRLA certification of academic mentors. Oversee objective-based component of study table program. Duties/Responsibilities: Support the development and implementation of training programs for graduate student staff, with a focus on instructional excellence and learner engagement. Contribute to the design and facilitation of workshops covering topics such as student motivation, differentiated instructional strategies, and adapting to diverse learning styles. Assist in coordinating professional development initiatives Design, develop, and implement learning materials tailored to support students with a variety of learning styles, abilities, and academic backgrounds. Create resources that promote accessibility, engagement, and academic success, incorporating evidence-based instructional strategies and technologies. Collaborate with faculty and support staff to ensure materials align with curriculum goals and accommodate various cognitive and learning needs. Coordinate support services for student-athletes and serve as a liaison to key campus resources, including Upper Division Advising, Disability Services, the Learning Center, Career Center, and Counseling Center. Maintain clear, timely, and consistent communication with the Director of SASS and the student-athlete's academic coordinator to provide updates on academic progress, skill development, and the implementation of accommodations, when applicable. Ensure relevant stakeholders are informed of any challenges, improvements, or support strategies needed to promote student-athlete success and compliance with academic support plans Develop and implement individualized academic support plans designed to foster independent learning and long-term academic success. Assess each student's unique strengths, challenges, and learning preferences to create personalized strategies that enhance study skills, time management, goal-setting, and self-advocacy. Monitor progress regularly and adjust plans as needed to ensure continuous growth and increased academic autonomy. Assist in the NCAA Continuing Eligibility Certification process. Stay current with and strictly follow all NCAA, MAC, and BSU regulations. Promptly report any concerns to the Director of SASS or the Athletics Compliance Office. Uphold the highest standards of integrity and participate in required training, including NCAA Regional Rules (biennially), annual BSU Athletic Compliance Training, and other relevant institutional sessions. Assist in the supervision and management of evening study table sessions held Sunday through Thursday, with varying hours. Provide academic support, monitor attendance and engagement, enforce study table policies, and create a structured learning environment that promotes productivity and academic accountability for student athletes. Assist monitoring of the academic progress of student athletes according to NCAA, MAC and BSU guidelines. Perform other related duties as assigned.
