Business Development Officer - Wealth and Insurance

Position Summary:

The Business Development Officer - Wealth and Insurance, plays a key role in creating and deepening relationships with Members, partners, and the community, in support of the growth and retention initiatives and strategies of wealth services and TDECU Insurance Agency (Insurance). This role builds brand awareness and deepens relationships, creating long-term value for the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies Wealth & Insurance opportunities. Develops and executes outreach strategies to grow Wealth Services and Insurance business lines. Leverages existing relationships & partnerships to drive business.
  • Executes on strategic sales goals to achieve assigned production and growth objectives based upon goals set forth by leadership.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with strategic partners and community. Creates opportunities to highlight TDECU's unique products and services to potential and existing clients.
  • Delivers engaging presentations tailored to the audiences for purpose of introducing people to TDECU's services, primarily Wealth and Insurance.
  • Delivers appropriate financial education presentations to support referral business.
  • Tracks, monitors and reports on prospecting and relationship building activities
  • Works closely with leaders and teams to better understand product offerings and business plan. Collaborates with internal teams to strengthen referrals and solve member needs regardless of channel. Attends meetings and functions as needed.
  • Supports integration, change and onboarding efforts relating to Wealth and Insurance product and service delivery.
  • Aligns, develops and executes plans and strategies to improve business relationships to achieve strategic outcomes. Develops a business development approach aligned to the strategic plan.
  • Recommends marketing and outreach efforts designed to increase market share of wealth and insurance.
  • Stays informed of industry trends, key partnership developments, regulatory change, and emerging opportunities in assigned markets and in wealth and insurance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing or related field, or equivalent mix of education and business development experience required.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial services, wealth, insurance, and/or business development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and strategic and creative thinking abilities.
  • Effective time management The ability to actively prioritize.
  • Assumes responsibility for achieving results.
  • Ability to identify referral opportunities and share key details with internal partners.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.

  • Our company offers a dynamic hybrid work arrangement, which requires three days on-site, in the Sugar Land, TX office.
