Job Summary
HCP, VP ACD Copy - PHARMACEUTICAL ADVERTISING VP ACD COPYWRITER.
The VP, Associate Creative Director, Copy (VP, ACD, Copy) fosters creative inspiration and leads workstreams across multiple account(s) and brands; ensuring high quality of content and style to meet the client's marketing strategies and objectives. With Art and cross-functional partners, they share responsibility for brand strategy, team development and cohesion, client management, and creative ideation and execution. They are responsible for the career development and management of direct and indirect reports, under the direction of the lead Creative Director. As an officer of the company, and senior leader of the company, the VP, ACD - Copy is an ambassador of the agency internally and externally.
Essential Functions
Creative Ideation and Execution
Works collaboratively with Creative and Account partners to develop smart, single-minded ideas on strategy. Also works with direct members of staff to ensure proper production of campaign elements. Helps to set vision and strategy for organic creative growth of the creative department and agency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborates and communicates with team members in a productive manner to ensure goals are being met and to attain and maintain creative vision outlined for the agency.

Client Management
Develops and maintains strong client relationships through demonstrated creative leadership, ability, and successful output.

Strategic Thinking
Maintains a high-level understanding of client's products, marketing objectives, and the promotional activities of similar or competitive products to contribute innovative ideas and tactics.

Team Management and Development
Directly supervises Copy teams on brand(s), providing mentorship/guidance to copy team as needed. Demonstrates ability to hire and retain highly capable people while fostering inclusive and positive culture.

Business and Resource Management

Maintains timely and detail-oriented approaches to administrative duties, ensuring creative team is billable and fully utilized to increase productivity and efficiency.

New Business
Grows existing brands and participates in new business to generate additional revenue.

Agency and Culture
Participates in internal and external initiatives to elevate agency operations, community, and brand
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Expanded)
Creative Ideation and Execution
* Creates and oversees the development of all creative, delivering a high level of excellence.
* Partners with Account, Senior Creative Leadership, and Clients in development/presentation of brand personality, positioning, and creative briefs.
* Possesses the ability to take abstract concepts and empower project teams to create cutting-edge concepts or designs that are user-friendly, representative of the client's goals, and within brand guidelines.
* Helps set priorities and manages workloads within Art/Copy team so that assignments are completed within agreed upon time frames.
* Corroborates with production, ensuring quality work that is completed as designed, on time, without error and on budget.
* Manages and carries out photo shoots, videos, and film production, with assistance from reports.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Effectively partners and communicates with internal stakeholders across Creative, Account, Project Management departments (among others) to ensure successful execution of campaigns.
* Ensures the Account teams member thoroughly understand creative concepts, and inspire elevation of creative product when necessary, so that they are committed to selling them to the client.
* Maintains a positive/solutions-oriented approach to cross-team problem solving.

Client Management
* Leads and maintains strong relationships with client partners through demonstrated creative ability and active communication.
* Partners with clients to understand brand, messaging, creative vision, and audiences.
* Professionally and tactfully manages client expectations, timelines, budgets, and requests.

Strategic Thinking
* Possesses an in-depth understanding of the assigned account, treatment category, and of competitive landscape.
* Works with Account and Creative senior management to develop overall marketing strategies.
* Communicates ideas thoughtfully and succinctly.

Talent Management and Development
* Meets regularly with direct/indirect reports to proactively manage career development through goal setting and reviews.
* Demonstrates leadership, empathy, and professionalism in communications with team.

Resource Management
* Ensure Copy team members are billable and fully utilized to increase productivity and efficiency.
* Partner with Creative Resourcing to determine scopes, billability, and acquire freelance support
as needed.
* Demonstrates full understanding of Vantage/billing process and timely reporting of hours.

Agency and Culture Building
* Acts as ambassador for the agency at industry events.
* Participates and/or leads agency initiatives outside of day-to-day to elevate employee experience and department.
* Responsible for establishing and maintaining the reputation of the company as a creative leader in healthcare advertising.

  • Portfolio of work demonstrating strong and consistent writing ability required.
  • Competent in software specific to the client and agency processes including Microsoft Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficient in social media and digital best practice.
  • Strong healthcare copywriting-AMA style, health literacy, referencing and factchecking, prepping for medical/legal/regulatory submissions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong mentorship ability and relationship building skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization ability.
  • Master level Financial Management and resourcing acumen.
  • Strong Leadership and People Management ability.

Salary
$160,000 - $220,000
The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
