Summary:

The Operations Manager/Project Manager II will support the CBP Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Field Support Directorate (TSD). This role is responsible for overseeing operational event management, staffing performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual service levels and performance thresholds.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and report on volume and staffing event handling, including:
    • Total number and duration of operational events
    • Percentage of mitigation activities performed within operational plan guidelines
    • Timeliness of operational status communications
    • Delivery of after-action reports within required timelines
    • Ensure adherence to operational plans and performance metrics
  • Coordinate with technical and field teams to ensure seamless incident response and resolution
    • Monitor and report on staffing changes:
    • Track staff additions and departures during the performance period
    • Verify current staffing levels meet contractual volume thresholds
    • Identify and escalate areas where staffing does not meet requirements
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, risk registers, and performance dashboards
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to CBP stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with CBP OIT policies, procedures, and security requirements

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of IT service delivery and staffing models
  • Shall be customer-focused, responsive, reliable, and detail-oriented with solid managerial, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of service desk and supervisory experience
  • Ability to pass a background, credit check, and drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • PMP certification or relevant project management certification is a plus

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $165,000 annually.
