Your role with us

A Registration Specialist Lead in the Emergency department plays a critical leadership role in ensuring accurate, efficient, and customer-focused patient registration. They serve as both a technical expert and team resource, overseeing registration accuracy, coaching staff, resolving escalated issues, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and billing requirements. In addition to mentoring and training, they drive workflow improvements through Lean methodology and actively contribute to departmental leadership activities.

What you'll do

  • Leads and supports registration workflows by accurately collecting patient demographics, verifying insurance eligibility, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and billing requirements across multiple service areas.
  • Serves as a resource and point of escalation for frontline staff, providing guidance on complex registration, customer service issues, and workflow processes in Epic.
  • Trains, mentors, and evaluates staff through onboarding, ongoing education, quality assurance reviews, and development of training materials and standard work documentation.
  • Monitors and resolves registration errors by managing workqueues, identifying trends, and ensuring timely and accurate account correction and documentation.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service by using AIDET principles, handling escalated service concerns, and ensuring a positive experience for patients and internal partners.
  • Participates in department leadership and Lean improvement initiatives, contributing to staff scheduling, problem-solving, process optimization, and team performance alignment with organizational goals.
Required qualifications
  • High school Diploma or Equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare Access related industry such as registration, medical front office, and/ or medical reception setting required.

Additional Information

  • 1 year of experience as a lead, supervisor, or management position preferred.
