The Accounting Manager, primary focus will be on ensuring the safety and soundness of our members' assets and is expected to be hands-on, in offering active guidance to the entire accounting department staff. This leader has a strong understanding of internal controls, a comprehensive accounting background, can apply said knowledge to the everyday business needs of the department and contributes to a culture of efficiencies innovations and accountability. Key responsibilities include managing cash flow, preparing and analyzing financial reports, supporting budget processes, and monitoring banking relationships. The role also involves updating policies, mentoring accounting staff, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring operational efficiency through data analysis and report preparation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements, review GL documentation, analyze data, monitor transaction trends, and ensure IRS/Federal Reserve compliance.
- Update policies and procedures, stay educated on ODFI/NCUA regulations, and maintain policy awareness.
- Support annual fiscal budget generation, analysis, and management.
- Monitor cash flow, ensure timely payments, manage AR/AP, and oversee fixed assets and PPD register.
- Assess borrowing needs for daily liquidity and be familiar with debt reports and borrowing resources.
- Monitor banking and cash relationships, review statements, oversee account balances, and stay aware of financial institutions' stability.
- Update vendor resources, annually update vendors, and review/approve related invoices.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff, foster teamwork, ensure training, maintain a supportive environment, conduct evaluations, ensure internal controls, maintain workflow, and guide cross-divisional projects.
- Collect and analyze data for financial reports, prepare audit schedules, ensure operational efficiency, and manage complex reconciliations and transactions.
- Design reports, act as a liaison within the organization, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Business/Administration, Management, Statistics. (Required)
- 3-5 years of experience in Prologue (Required)
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting in the banking industry (Required)
- 3-5 years Interpreting financial data. (Required)
- 1-3 years leadership experience. (Required)
- Understanding banking systems and translating them amongst multiple user systems
- Knowledge of credit unions core banking products.
- Knowledge of: Accounting Principles, Payables and Compliance
- Analytical thinking
- Possesses expert written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

- Must have a valid/unexpired driver's license
