Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Staff Accountant. A Staff Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions for Ziegler and/or related entities
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Reconcile various accounts as assigned
- Assist with various daily and monthly cash activities (e.g. Reconciliations, debt management, etc.)
- Post general ledger journal entries
- Maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems
- Assist with annual audit
- Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems
- Report to management regarding the finances of establishment
- Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses or individuals
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
- Assist with the preparation and filing of state sales and use tax returns as needed
- Assist with the preparation and filing of Federal Excise Tax (FET) returns as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree required; accounting, finance or business related preferred
- 1 year of related work experience
- CPA or working towards certification preferred
- Personal Attributes: Attention to Detail, Commitment / Dependability, Integrity, Problem Solving, Efficiency
- Advanced Microsoft skills, specifically Microsoft Excel

The pay range for this position is $54,800.00 to $65,700.00
Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
