Scale Operator

Are you organized, reliable, and ready to join a dynamic team? Staffmark is hiring a Scale Operator for a well-established scrap metal facility in Rogers, AR. This position plays a key role in weighing incoming and outgoing loads, processing documentation, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 1st Shift | Full-Time

What You'll Be Doing:

• Accurately weigh vehicles (full and empty) and review materials for correctness
• Generate and distribute BOLs (Bills of Lading) and weight tickets to appropriate trucking companies
• Handle cash or check payments based on transaction receipts
• Identify and communicate any objectionable or restricted materials to customers
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces while adhering to safety procedures and PPE policies
• Manage day-end cash drawer reconciliation
• Answer customer phone calls regarding scrap pricing and service requests (container swaps, sets, pickups)
• Email BOLs/weight tickets and dispatch requests to internal teams
• File all paperwork properly for easy retrieval and compliance
• Assist with new steel orders
• Collaborate with team members across the scrap yard for efficient operations

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous metals and/or the trucking industry
• Previous experience (1+ years) in weigh station or scale operations
• Familiarity with Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipping documentation
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Basic math and cash handling experience (cash, check, and credit card)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Dependable with regular attendance and punctuality
