Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for facilitating and ensuring compliance with company practices, regulatory agencies, permits and other applicable laws and standards. Develop and administer policies and procedures to ensure a healthy and safe working environment that promotes a safety culture, and ensure full compliance with applicable local, state, and federal government agencies. Responsible for understanding, implementing, and managing environmental programs and overall facilities maintenance programs, philosophies and practices. Responsible for developing and implementing effective training programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  1. Ensure the company facility and operations are in compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  2. Maintains and submits OSHA 300 Log and Summaries
  3. Ensures compliance with all Oklahoma Statues regarding employer's duties and responsibilities.
  4. Develops and administer policies and procedures to establish and promote a healthy and safe working environment for all personnel, to include:

    • Hazard Communication/Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Program
    • Bloodborne Pathogens training
    • Hazard Assessment
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Safety Eyewear Protection Program
    • Hand Protection Program
    • Lockout/Tagout Program
    • Emergency Action Plan
    • Hearing Conservation Program (if applicable)
    • Forklift and Aerial Lift Training
    • Permit-Required Confined Spaces Program


  5. Perform routine inspections and audits of facilities for safety and environmental compliance including: safety equipment, supplies, hazardous materials, hazardous wastes and the associated accumulation sites, stormwater draining systems.
  6. Investigate accidents and injuries and take appropriate action to prevent recurrence, if possible.
  7. Initially generates and reports First Report of Injuries for all work-related injuries and illnesses; maintain adequate records for each employee case.
  8. Conduct New-Hire Safety Orientation for all new-hires.
  9. Selects and approves all personal protective equipment (PPE) issued by the company or otherwise required for use by employees and vendors.
  10. Ensure all visitors, guests, and customers are provided with pertinent information regarding personal safety, and other compliance-related topics, prior to entry on-site.
  11. Manage and/or conduct all safety-related training, to include recurrent training and required recertification training events, for all direct and contracted employees.
  12. Is instrumental in ensuring a "culture of safety and compliance" is established and nurtured on a continuing basis throughout all the facilities and amongst all employees, both on and off-site.
  13. Administer and lead the First Responder program; ensure proper training for all members.
  14. Prepare and administer the EHS budget; document expenditures; maintain budget compliance; produce regular reports when required.
  15. Produce regular reports documenting safety statistics; create presentations for executive reviews.
  16. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  17. Point of Contact for 3rd party facility safety vendor
  18. Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  19. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or two plus years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations or statutes. Ability to write reports, training modules and process / procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, auditors, and customers.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, Word, and Visio. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.
