The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Youth Group Leader Assistant/Attendant. This position provides attendant care services to persons seeking services being served through the Center's CBS program on a group and individual basis. Evenings are required 1+ days per week.

  • Base hourly rate of $19.69 to $22.10 per hour



Responsibilities:

1. Provide attendant care services which assist with promoting successful completion of daily activities and assist with promoting successful group interactions among consumers

2. Facilitate/co-facilitate groups as assigned.

3. Encourage and support person seeking services' engagement in pro-social and YPP activities

4. Encourage and support person seeking services' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others

5. Work respectfully and supportively with person seeking services' parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries

6. Transport person seeking services to and from activities or appointments when necessary as well as serve as Attendant on van transportation routes as assigned

7. Understand direct service requirements and efficiency goals established by TGC for the position, and achieve same

8. Provide documentation (clinical notes, reports, and other professional products) which complies with TGC's Quality Improvement standards and the requirements of all funding sources.

9. Be able to organize work to meet direct service expectations and Center requirements

EDUCATION:

One year of college course work in the field of human services, or one year experience in the field of human services, or combination of education and work experience in the field of human services which equal one year.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Six months' experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included.

Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
