Job Summary

Summary: As a Dining Services Manager, you will manage a team of food service professionals and be responsible for the overall service in the main dining room as well as special functions. Additionally, you will assist with maintaining interdepartmental relations and integrating the dining service department with the facility plan of operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees dining services operations at a medium to large volume location, ensuring high-quality food service and customer satisfaction.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, and develops the patient services team to meet performance and service standards.
  • Ensures compliance with dietary restrictions, special diets, and patient preferences within medical guidelines.
  • Collaborates with the Chef and management team to create menus and implement new culinary programs that reflect the company's vision.
  • Supports budgeting, profit and loss management, and preparation of quarterly client reports.
  • Leads or participates in patient satisfaction initiatives, departmental meetings, and facility-wide quality improvement programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations, including HIPAA and patient rights policies.
  • Oversees sanitation, infection control, and quality improvement efforts in meal service areas.
  • Works with marketing and culinary teams to drive innovation and increase sales through food quality and presentation.
  • Handles customer interactions and resolves complaints in a service-oriented manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Waited table and catering experience is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred.
  • Associate's degreeis preferred.
