The Opportunity:

Mattel, Inc., the largest toy company in the world, is seeking a Sr National Account Sales Manager to drive revenue and profitability by selling the most iconic toy brands in the industry to one of the top retailers in the U.S.

The Sr National Accounts Manager will have responsibility for the strategic direction and management of top power brands for Mattel. Primary responsibilities include managing the relationship with Walmart and facilitating short and long term growth of the customer in-store and online. The Sr National Accounts Manager will achieve this by partnering with cross-functional groups across the organization to expand the current business and develop new revenue opportunities. This position will provide the highest level of service to the customer and will possess the leadership capability critical to the achievement of revenue and profit objectives for their category.

This position may be based in our Rogers, Arkansas Sales office and requires periodic travel to our corporate headquarters in California.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Establish, communicate and implement a strategic business plan for the account that maximizes customer profitability and service levels while ensuring the achievement of segment and corporate growth and revenue objectives
  • Create initiatives to deliver against annual goals. Prioritize initiatives and secure and allocate resources accordingly. Develop specific action plans with goals, timing and accountabilities
  • Drive market share focus by leveraging data insights
  • Establish a customer-centric and shopper-centric focus throughout the organization that anticipates and responds to the needs of the customer and their retail consumers/shoppers
  • Lead the internal strategic planning and execution of assigned brands/businesses
  • Seek, secure and analyze information to inform strategies and plans, including industry best practices, competitive initiatives and consumer insights, to validate new product introductions and product extensions supported by product promotional opportunities that meet or exceed sales targets
  • Work on an interactive basis with the sales operations and finance teams across the business segments to ensure the success of customer sales strategies and the attainment of segment and corporate financial and performance objectives
  • Coach and develop direct report(s) and create a positive working environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with or managing the Walmart business and/or working with large national retailing organizations, preferably with a background in the Toy industry
  • Highly analytical in order to create business recommendations from data sources
  • Excellent relationship building skills with proven sales success managing key account partnerships
  • Strong knowledge of syndicated data analysis, data metrics, shopper behavior, brand, competitive and category volumes
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Ability to leverage relationships to increase shelf-share, online placement and drive increased business
  • Proven ability to lead, own and drive programs and processes
  • Action oriented and excellent decision-making skills
  • Strong economic thinking, financial acumen and entrepreneurship skills
  • Results oriented approach to the business and driven mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities at once while maintaining the highest level of quality and detail
  • One team mentality and culture builder
  • People management experience with proven leadership capabilities
  • Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10 year's related work experience
  • Demonstrated agrowth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing Walmart, with a deep understanding of its systems, processes, and decision-making structure.
  • Proficiency with Scintilla and its applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Tableau
  • Experience with Walmart omnichannel strategy, including in-store, dotcom, and Pickup & Delivery integration.
  • Familiarity with Walmart's Go-To-Market timelines, modular process, and new item setup systems (e.g., NOVA).
  • Strong understanding of Walmart's supply chain expectations and performance metrics (OTIF, SQEP, etc.).
  • Ability to build joint business plans aligned with Walmart category strategy and corporate initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with Walmart merchant and replenishment teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Local presence in the Northwest Arkansas area desired.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $155,000 and $175,000
