In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient's journey by:

• Assist in supervision of Medical Assistants and other non-licensed patient care providers.
• Coordinate daily room assignments for Medical Assistants.
• Orient and train new Medical Assistants and provide input into MA performance appraisals.
• Answer incoming patient telephone calls for referral to nurse, pharmacist, or physician.
• Call in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed.
• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stocks exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Assist with delegated patient education including but not limited to distributing education literature, etc.
• File all labs and outside reports accurately and as needed.
• Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, including but not limited to, hormones and biological growth factors.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Schedule patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and schedule appointments to follow-up on receipt of test results, as applicable.
• Assist with select pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed.
• Inform physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
• Obtain new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
• Perform other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing reception, etc, as requested by supervisor or physician.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Management or lead experience is strongly preferred.
• Oncology experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
