GENERAL FUNCTION

At LensCrafters, we are passionate about the health and wellbeing of our customers and patients. We've expanded that passion to Surgical Clinics where we can provide even more comprehensive care and services in the neighborhoods we serve.

The Circulator manages all necessary care inside the surgical suite, assists the team in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for the patient and serves as an advocate for patients who are under sedation. Responsibilities include ensuring that surgical asepsis is adhered to during the surgical procedure, keeping track and conducting an inventory of supplies and equipment used during and after the surgical procedure, and ensuring the safety of the patient

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensures/implements housecleaning task for proper sanitation
  • Utilizes proper aseptic technique in assisting in room setup and handling instrumentation/supplies throughout procedure
  • Checks chart for consent, H&P, and documentation of pre-op medication and allergies
  • Checks for accuracy of implant order and ensures implant availability
  • Transports patient safely to the procedure room
  • Positions patient appropriately
  • Identifies patient according to facility "time out" policy
  • Prepares the surgical area utilizing aseptic technique
  • Administers intraoperative medications appropriately
  • Verifies all implants with surgical staff prior to opening
  • Actively participates in surgical procedure while monitoring patient's needs
  • Ensures safe patient transport to post-op area
  • Assists in room turnover
  • Support in other activities as directed in Retail and Optometric areas during non-surgery days


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Relevant experience in a medical, surgical, or optical environment
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Must have a strong command of the English language for all written correspondence & oral communication
  • Committed team player
  • Dedication to detail and process
  • Proven ability to problem solve


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Relevant medical or surgical certifications/degrees
  • Strong knowledge of basic optics
  • State licensure (if applicable) &/or ABO Certification in non-licensed states
  • Knowledge of retail operations, processes & policies

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
