We are actively seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented people to join our growing team Whey Operator on the DAY shift for our Luxemburg, Wisconsin location.

What the Whey Operator role is about:

• This position is a vital part to ourwhey operations at our plant.
• Schedule: 2-2-3 Rotations on DAYS: 6 AM - 6 PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate hourly checks on assigned equipment and make any necessary adjustments to keep product with customer and organization specifications.
  • Machines Include: HTST, Ultrafiltration, Microfiltration, Nanofiltration, Reverse Osmosis, Spray Dryers, Separators, Heat Exchangers, and Packaging.
  • Checks include: flow rates, temperatures, system pressures, pH, percent solids, and protein percentage.
• Shutdown, clean, and start up assigned machines on a daily basis or when required.
• Set up line circuits, silos, and tanks to be CIPed and setup backup for production as required
• Load and unload outgoing and incoming trailers.
  • Types of trailers include: Dry cargo, bulk powder, and liquid tanks.
• Check incoming loads of whey, WPC, and permeate to verify conformity to organization requirements.
• Complete needed quality checks for Water Quality, Chemical Concentration, and Foot Formers.
• Complete tasks as required in the Master Sanitation Schedule.

What you need to be a Whey Operator:

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to efficiently read, write and speak English

Experience Required:

• No experience required; in-house training provided.
• Experience in a dairy or manufacturing environment an asset.

Skills Required:

• Ability to read, understand, and adhere to documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
• Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
• Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.
• Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
• Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.

Physical Requirements:

• Some lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Some climbing, kneeling, repetitive hand/arm movements

• Our Luxemburg, WI, plant is home to about 170 employees. This facility produces mozzarella and provolone cheese, as well as various whey streams.
