DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Lake Erie Lifeguard Supervisors oversee a team of lifeguards while also fulfilling their own lifeguard responsibilities. Your role encompasses public safety tasks and includes supervising and training lifeguards who patrol, observe, direct, and monitor designated beach areas along Lake Erie at Presque Isle State Park, with the primary goal of preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of visitors. - Seasonal full-time employment, with no healthcare benefits available
- Work days will vary, employee will work 5 of 7 days per work week, to include weekends, holidays and all shifts as needed
- Overtime occurs frequently at the end of a shift or may be called in early to a shift.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two seasons of experience as a Lake Erie Lifeguard (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires al employees must obtain a valid Lifeguard Certification or Lifeguard Management Certification issued by the American Red Cross, YMCA, United States Lifesaving Association, or other authority recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Health within 14 days of employment.
- This position requires all employees must obtain valid certifications in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR within 14 days of employment.
- This position requires all positions require possession of a valid motor vehicle license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
