Duties:

Delta Dental of Oklahoma's Oral Health Foundation Dental Care Helpline assists Oklahomans (especially underserved and uninsured individuals) to access the dental healthcare services they need.

 

A Bilingual (Spanish) - Dental Care Navigator/Clinic Aide is a two-part position.

Part-one of a Bilingual (Spanish) Dental Care Navigator/Clinic Aide, is the Dental Care Navigator, which helps low-income English and Spanish speaking clients find the best option(s) for their dental care, based on their needs and resources. The Navigator counsels' clients to overcome various barriers to care and coordinates with community health centers as well as free/low-cost clinics/programs, in order to make appropriate and effective referrals. The position also assists with other Oral Health Foundation programs and administrative work, as assigned. This work is done in the Delta Dental of Oklahoma Headquarters office (no remote work).

Part-two of a Dental Care Navigator/Clinic Aide, is the Clinic Aide, which assists with the Foundation's school-based sealant clinics and oral wellness screening events. This portion of the position requires the ability to load, unload, transport, and set-up and take down portable dental equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Also requires Oklahoma drivers' license with an excellent driving record, as well as the ability to drive the Oral Health Foundation minivan. During the school year, approximately 40 percent of the Dental Care Navigator/Clinic Aide position's time is spent as a Clinic Aide in the field; during the summer months, approximately 20 percent is in the field. The position will also require some travel outside of the Oklahoma City metro area and occasional overnight stays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent Spanish (written and spoken) and excellent English.
  • Oklahoma driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays.
  • Highly dependable

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player within our company culture

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous work or education related to dentistry, highly preferred.
  • Experience working with children, a plus.
  • Experience serving diverse, at-risk, and/or under-resourced populations, a plus.
