Job Summary

Acting as team lead/supervisor for Neurosurgery teams at William BeaumontUniversityHospital (Royal Oak) and Dearborn campuses.80% oftimespent working oneachteam clinically to support clinical operations. 20% of time spent with administrative duties including team scheduling,refiningand updating orientation materials, teamcredentialsand certificationsmaintenance,staff performanceand evaluations, resident and physician collaboration, andservice linebest practiceprocess improvement.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with regional and service line leadership to identify strategic clinical growth and process improvement. Participates in regional, service line and leadership meetings/committees as requested.
  • Continual management of change in service line with bidirectional communication between APP Director and service line leaders to APP Supervisors and APPs.
  • Oversight and development daily schedules, including coverage for unexpected staffing situations.
  • Clinical training and orientation of new APP staff. Precepting or overseeing APP students.
  • Assist manager in interviewing, performance evaluations, OPPE/FPPE, certification maintenance, coaching and development of department level education of all reporting APPs.
  • Work 80% clinically in Neurosurgery, or asdeterminedby APP Leadership.
  • AssistancewithAPP Student education placement
  • Development of clinical training including orientation process development and implementation, service line education, billing/coding.
  • Participate ininterviewing, hiring,onboarding and mentoring, performance evaluations, OPPE/FPPE, coaching or PIPs,RLand safety concerns.

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree AMA recognized PA program that is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants and meet requirements of the state.

  • Required Master's Degree Science/Physician Assistant or Masters Degree in Nursing.

  • 3 years of relevant experience Clinical Practice as an APP is required

  • 1 year of relevant experience In a leadership role is preferred

  • LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required

  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
