Sustainability Department

Vantage's Sustainability team works cross-functionally to embed sustainability into the design, development, and operation of resilient digital infrastructure to deliver long-term value for stakeholders. We act as strategic thought partners, identifying sustainability-related risks and opportunities, and building compelling business cases for initiatives that advance our business and deliver measurable, cost-effective impact. Through data-driven insights, we shape global, regional, and site-level sustainability strategies, set enterprise standards, enable execution, and communicate with clarity - accelerating Vantage's growth while achieving shared sustainability goals.

Position Overview

This position will be based on-site at our office in Denver, CO, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage is seeking a highly skilled and analytically driven Senior Manager to lead global initiatives focused on carbon measurement, reporting, and Net Zero roadmap development. As a key member of the Global Sustainability Center of Excellence (COE), this role will lead the development of our enterprise-wide carbon inventory, support implementation of our Scope 3 strategy, and build sophisticated emissions modeling tools to inform our decarbonization pathways and support our 2030 and 2040 Net Zero targets.

This position is highly specialized, with a clear focus on carbon accounting, emissions modeling, and regulatory-grade data management. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in greenhouse gas accounting and life cycle assessment, along with a strong command of modeling and data analysis. They will be adept at transforming complex datasets into actionable insights to guide internal decision-making and external reporting.

The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with teams across Sustainability, Procurement, Design Engineering, Innovation, and Finance to ensure robust, auditable carbon data and tools are embedded into business processes, investment decisions, and customer-facing strategies. This role also plays a critical function in tracking emerging carbon regulations and evolving disclosure expectations across global markets.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, accurate, and third-party assurance-ready carbon inventory across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, aligned with GHG Protocol and best-in-class standards.
  • Support the design and execution of a practical Scope 3 measurement and action strategy, prioritizing material categories and engaging internal stakeholders to drive progress.
  • Collaborate with procurement and regional teams to develop supplier engagement programs that encourage disclosure of emissions data, product-specific LCA, and carbon reduction plans.
  • Design and deliver dynamic, lever-based Net Zero roadmap models that help internal stakeholders and external partners understand tradeoffs, timelines, and pathways to decarbonization.
  • Support development of Marginal Abatement Cost Curves (MACC) that inform the company's Net Zero roadmap and design and investment strategies.
  • Partner with design engineering and innovation teams to evaluate carbon implications of new products or design changes through active engagement and tool development
  • Provide carbon data and insights for key customer engagements, including support for decarbonization collaboration, contract development, or customer emissions reporting.
  • Partner with Finance to embed emissions data and insights into underwriting models.
  • Lead the third-party assurance process for annual carbon disclosures, ensuring integrity, audit readiness, and transparency in all reported emissions data.
  • Support or lead emissions disclosures for sustainability reports and other external reporting
  • Serve as the in-house expert on carbon accounting frameworks, including changes to standards (e.g., GHG Protocol updates) and their implications for our strategies, designs, and customer-facing proposals.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on LCA methodologies and guide regional teams in evaluating and sourcing low-embodied carbon materials across key supply categories.
  • Support evaluation of evolving global carbon regulations, standards, and disclosure frameworks assessing their impact and preparing internal guidance.
  • Design and deliver training programs to increase carbon literacy and understanding of Net Zero tradeoffs across teams, functions, and regions.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Sustainability, Data Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in carbon accounting, sustainability analytics, or environmental strategy.
  • Experience developing Scope 1-3 carbon inventories and working with assurance providers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Life Cycle Assessment methodologies.
  • Exceptional Excel skills with demonstrated experience building sophisticated models and dashboards.
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of GHG accounting standards and key frameworks.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of leading initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Travel up to 20% as needed to support program implementation and business needs.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
