Sustainability Department

Vantage's Sustainability team works cross-functionally to embed sustainability into the design, development, and operation of resilient digital infrastructure to deliver long-term value for stakeholders. We act as strategic thought partners, identifying sustainability-related risks and opportunities, and building compelling business cases for initiatives that advance our business and deliver measurable, cost-effective impact. Through data-driven insights, we shape global, regional, and site-level sustainability strategies, set enterprise standards, enable execution, and communicate with clarity - accelerating Vantage's growth while achieving shared sustainability goals.

Position Overview

This position will be based on-site at our office in Denver, CO, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

Vantage is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Global Sustainability to lead our Global Sustainability Center of Excellence (COE). This critical role will oversee a centralized team of subject matter experts responsible for developing and executing foundational corporate sustainability programs (industry benchmarking, materiality, risk & opportunity assessment, data management, reporting, internal education and communication), while coordinating with regional sustainability leads to develop, test, and enable the implementation of global sustainability initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Sustainability, the Director will help shape and drive enterprise-wide initiatives that translate sustainability commitments into actionable strategies that drive business value. This individual will guide the development of global tools, systems, and insights that inform decision-making, embed sustainability into business operations and investment planning, and support regulatory and voluntary reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the Global Sustainability Center of Excellence (COE) and oversee execution of core global sustainability programs
  • Oversee foundational workstreams including materiality, benchmarking, data collection, third-party assurance, policy tracking, internal education, communications, and external reporting
  • Guide COE team members, ensuring strategic alignment, resource prioritization, and performance tracking
  • Translate enterprise sustainability strategy into actionable COE priorities and coordinated workstreams
  • Ensure strategic alignment with the Vice President of Global Sustainability and cross-functional leadership
  • Partner with regional sustainability leaders to co-develop global programs and enable consistent implementation
  • Direct the development of key global sustainability initiatives, such as Scope 3 strategy, carbon accounting, climate risk and opportunity, and sustainable supply chain
  • Lead development of tools to assess the cost and return on investment of sustainability initiatives and support business case development
  • Collaborate with Finance to integrate sustainability costs and benefits into investment models and decision-making frameworks
  • Provide global guidance, frameworks, and training to regional sustainability teams to drive consistency and capability building
  • Coordinate with Global Innovation to embed sustainability requirements into global product design standards
  • Deliver executive-ready dashboards, Net Zero roadmaps, and performance insights to inform leadership decision-making
  • Drive enterprise-wide sustainability education and support internal and external communications in collaboration with Corporate Communications
  • Drive employee sustainability education and support internal and external sustainability communications in collaboration with Corporate Communications.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate sustainability, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a people leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Sustainability, Data Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep understanding of global sustainability frameworks and standards
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and translate stakeholder expectations into operational strategies
  • Experience with sustainability data systems, assurance processes, and performance reporting
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to brief executives and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, public policy, business, or related discipline
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of leading initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Travel up to 20% as needed to support program implementation and business needs.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $190,000 - $200,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
