Job Summary: The Sustainability Services Manager reports to the Sustainability Services Market Leader and assists in coordinating business development activities, vetting sales opportunities, and ensuring appropriate subject matter experts (SMEs) and industry experts are properly included in sustainability-related pursuits. Working with the firm's consulting practices in the Assurance, Tax, and Advisory business lines this role supports the firm's Sustainability initiatives by coordinating projects, supporting business development activities, and assisting subject matter experts (SMEs) and industry leaders in delivering ESG-related services. This role helps develop new services to align with client needs and market demand, go-to-market plans for existing and new services, day-to-day project management, and relationship building activities. The Manager will work closely with all facets of the business to help execute initiatives including but not limited to:
- Coordinating marketing activities.
- Project managing strategic initiatives.
- Actively engage in direct business development efforts.
- Representing the firm's services externally at conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities to build relationships, generate leads, and enhance market visibility.

The Sustainability Services Manager role involves working with BDO's various consulting practices to drive revenues for Sustainability & ESG services as well as across the firm and industry sectors. Job Duties: Project & Service Delivery Support
- Assists in the development and implementation of go-to-market strategies for ESG service areas
- Coordinates with SMEs and cross-functional teams to deliver sustainability-related consulting engagements on time and within scope
- Assists in service delivery to support consulting practices and internally to support BDO's corporate sustainability program as needed
- Supports quality control procedures and ensure project deliverables meet established standards
- Helps identify process improvements and efficiencies in ESG service delivery
Business Development & Market Representation
- Participates directly in business development by identifying and pursuing new ESG-related opportunities
- Represents the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and speaking engagements to increase brand visibility
- Assists with the drafting, review and preparation of proposals, presentations, and marketing materials for ESG-related opportunities
- Supports client meetings alongside senior leaders and SMEs, providing research and insights
- Maintains CRM records and track ESG-related business development activity
- Monitors ESG market trends, regulations, and competitor activity to help identify new service opportunities
Team Collaboration
- Works with consulting practices and marketing teams to coordinate service launches and campaigns
- Supports internal ESG working groups or committees
- Helps maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration
Reporting & Analysis
- Compiles and maintains reports on ESG services pipeline, proposals, and project progress for leadership review
- Assists in tracking KPIs for ESG initiatives
Other duties as required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Engineering or Sustainability, preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or consulting, required
- Experience managing projects and coordinating cross-functional teams, required
- Experience in business development and external market representation, preferred
- Exposure to client relationship management in a professional services environment, preferred
Software:
- Proficient in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Power BI, required
- Client relationship management (CRM) experience, required
- Microsoft Dynamics, preferred

- Strong business acumen with an ability to understand and communicate BDO's business, services, and value proposition

- Skilled in public speaking, presenting, authoring whitepapers, articles, and other documents to contribute to BDO's thought leadership and market prominence around ESG

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $115,000 - $135,000 Maryland Range: $115,000 - $135,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $115,000 - $135,000
