Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Knowledge of Graphic Design, photography, videography, communications or closely related field.

Position Summary
The Graphic Designer will be a vital part of the University of Georgia Athletic Association, overseeing graphic design projects from conception through production. This role involves researching, strategizing, conceptualizing, proposing, and designing creative projects for electronic, print, web, and interactive media.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Experience in graphic design for electronic, print, web, and interactive media.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and brand standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with photography and photo editing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (including, but not limited to Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro).
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms (including, but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).

  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee will lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, use close and distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can escalate to high during practice and athletic competitions.

  • Creative Design: Develop and design large wall graphics, posters, emails, social media graphics, signage, game programs, video board graphics, and other marketing and communication collateral.

  • Template Development: Create templates for posters, emails, social media, and other marketing materials.

  • Collaboration: Work with athletics staff to develop ideas, efficient design systems, and brand standards to produce a substantial body of work within established creative guidelines.

  • Project Management: Collaborate with supervisors to review project status, ensuring design projects move forward and meet deadlines.

  • Meetings and Feedback: Participate in or facilitate planning meetings, review sessions, and brainstorming. Provide and receive constructive feedback on all design projects.

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional organizations, administrators, coaches, and staff.

  • Social Media: Support the management of the department's social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter (X), Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and others, ensuring consistent and engaging content.
