Provides medical services to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed physician within the supervising physician's scope of practice. Responsible for providing acute, chronic and preventative health care in collaboration with the cardiologist in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Manages patients by assessing, diagnosing, coordinating care, educating, and documenting pertinent information with the supervising physician to meet patient care, clinical, hospital and national guidelines. Serves as a resource and educator for patients, family members, and fellow staff. Services include but are not limited to clinical evaluation of patients; ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests; prescription of pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacologic therapies; and teaching and counseling individuals and groups. Experience/Education: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Master of Science degree in Nursing with current Advance Practice Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska required. Certification with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for prescriptive authority required. OR Graduate degree from a Physician's Assistant program required. Current licensure as a Physician Assistant required. Completion of Bryan credentialing and re-credentialing process required for employment. Certification with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for prescriptive authority required. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network. Advanced Life Support (ACLS) is required. Current NIHSS certification is required. |
